The second test match between New Zealand and Bangladesh ended in a draw here in Mirpur.Rains had a major say in this test match as first three of the five days were washed out.New Zealand after losing the toss and being sent in were in trouble initially. After being reduced to 49 for 3 Ryder and McCullum got into the rescue act with a 137 run stand. After they were dismissed Flynn and Vettori consolidated to get New Zealand to 262 for 6 before they declared.Kiwi captain struck thrice in one over to leave Bangladesh tottering at 13 for 3 at the end of the fourth day.
Kiwi captain Daniel Vettori was trying to go for an unlikely win as he had Bangladesh reeling at 44 for 6 at one stage before a rescue act by Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza with a partnership of 78 for the seventh wicket which saved Bangladesh the blushes.Bangladesh finally declaring at 169 for 9.Vettori had figures of 5 for 66.New Zealand ended the day at 79 for 1.Match ending in a draw because of loss of the first 3 days.
Daniel Vettori once again came up with a fine spell of left arm spin bowling. He clearly showed that he is one of the finest left armers in the world. He not only bowled well but also batted well under crisis. His allround show in the first test match made sure that New Zealand walked back with a series win.Otherwise the way things were going in the first test Bangladesh could have not only won their first test but also their first series.
