Cricket Chairman Stan Heaton said: “We have had a few problems with professionals this year. We have signed three quality players who’s contracts we have had to terminate for either injury or international commitments. Obtaining quality sub professionals particularly for Saturday matches has also been an issue and I would like to place on record my thanks to MD David Wren who has worked tirelessly day in day out to try and find the very best sub professionals. We are now delighted to have some continuity with Ian. His attitude and commitment was first class on Saturday and we are sure he will do a good job for us. Our young side has done very well this season despite the professional problems and we hope Ian will help us to continue and enhance our progress’.
