Surrey 2nd XI won this match by an innings and 79 runs on the second day. The Surrey declaration at lunch on the second day left Suffolk 230 runs behind with around four hours to bat to save the match. For the winners, there were 5 sixes, 3 fives and 22 fours in Spring's 180 not out. Goatly scored 73 which included 2 sixes, 2 fives and 6 fours, Sandham 65 and Gillespie 54. In the Surrey innings, Gillespie and Sandham added 117 runs for the third wicket, and Spring and Palmer 170 for the sixth wicket. For the losers, there was 1 five, 22 fours and 3 threes in Wilson's 131. In the Suffolk first innings Wilson and Phillips put on 139 runs for the first wicket. On the first day 513 runs were scored. When batting in the Surrey innings, Wilkinson hurt his kneecap and did not field in the Suffolk second innings. Trudgett did not bat in the Suffolk second innings because of an injured hand.
