Yorkshire 2nd XI won this return match by an innings and 46 runs at 4.45 pm on the second day. The match at Harrogate in July between the two teams had also been won by Yorkshire. For the winners, Rudston's 87 contained 8 fours. In the Yorkshire first innings, Grimshaw and Rudston put on 116 runs for the first wicket. Brown's 43 which was the highest score for the losers included 3 fours. On the first day Oyston was late arriving at the ground, so Lawrence opened the bowling with Elms.
Leather had a lame knee and batted with a runner.
