Glamorgan won by an innings at 1.30 pm on the second day, after enforcing the follow-on. The weather delayed the start of the match on the first day until after lunch at 2.00 pm. For the winners, Creber and Nash bowled unchanged through both Monmouthshire innings. Nash took 11 wickets in the match for 62 runs and Creber 9 for 62. Riches's 52 was the highest score in the match. In the Glamorgan innings, Russell was hit in the jaw by a rising ball from Steeples and two teeth were loosened. The batsman retired hurt, with A J Gould acting as substitute fielder when Monmouthshire went out to bat. When dismissing Silverlock in the Monmouthshire second innings, Nash took his one hundredth wicket in championship matches.
