This return match was drawn, as had been the meeting between the two teams at Aylesbury a week earlier. By preserving their unbeaten record, Buckinghamshire ensured they shared the Championship with Northamptonshire. For Buckinghamshire, Wright top-scored with 77 and Gresson scored 53. Wright's 31 maidens were the most bowled in an innings during the season, and the 46 bowled in the match was joint highest. Wright's 80 overs were the joint highest of the season. The 3 stumpings in the match by Cobb were the most during the season and equalled the championship record, achieved by himself 3 times previously as well as by 2 others. Cobb's 5 dismissals in an innings was also the season's best, and equalled his own championship record that he had achieved twice before. For Oxfordshire, Baines top-scored with 59. The overs bowled by the Buckinghamshire bowlers in the Oxfordshire second innings appear to have been incorrectly recorded, though it is possible that Wright bowled the last over before tea on the second day and the first afterwards. No alternative version has been found among the sources listed. The overs listed here have been used in the compilation of the Buckinghamshire averages in Wisden and other sources.
[Missing: Fall of wickets; in Oxfordshire 1st inns boundaries in Baines's 59; in Oxfordshire 2nd inns batting order, and bowling overs are possibly incorrect; in Buckinghamshire inns boundaries in Wright's 77 and Gresson's 53.]
