Biography:He changed his name from William Slaney in July 1862. Conservative MP for Newport, Shropshire 1886-1908.
Other Sports:Soccer for England (centre forward) in the first international, against Scotland in 1873, scoring two goals in the 4-2 win. His first goal was the first scored in international football.
