Enfield have suffered a major setback with the news that Gary Brent will not be their professional for the coming season. Skipper David Bracewell explained: " Gary has taken a full time coaching role at Rugby School. He has started coaching locally and was looking forward as a career after cricket. The position was something that he had mentioned to us which was originally going to take effect in September 2009 but a change in their programme has meant him having to start in April.

"It is obviously a big blow to the club as he was outstanding in the second half of the season both on and off the field and has continued with training during the winter months. Everyone connected with the club wishes him well in his new career. He will still coach the first 4-6 weeks of the indoor nets but then will be leaving us mid March to start his new role."
