Mishra bags five
India held the upper hand at the end of day 3 as they bundled out Australia for 268 to get a lead of 201.Mishra picked up five wickets.Sehwag and Gambhir then put on 100 for the first wicket to take India's overall lead to 301 at the end of day's play.
Watson bails Australia out
Early in the morning Australia started well with Hussey and Watson involved in a good partnership. But Ishant got the first breakthrough, Hussey edging him to the keeper after a well compiled fifty. Then there was a mini collapse, Haddin cleaned up by Harbhajan bowled through the gate.White not reading Mishra's well disguised googly which eventually cleaned him up.Watson and Lee were involved in a excellent partnership.Watson played the spinners very well going on the backfoot and using the crease.IPL experience certainly helping.Lee was aggressive on Ishant who pinned him down with a good bouncer.Lee then counterattacked.
Harbhajan finally breaks through
Harbhajan finally got the breakthrough,Lee's forward defense lapped up by Dravid at slip of the leading edge.Flood gates opened.Mishra finally got the wicket of Watson trapped in front.Earlier he was lucky not to be given out leg before of Ishant by Rudi Koertzen,When he was on 39,he ended up making 78 which was a very fighting innings considering the circumstances.Mishra got Siddle stumped thereby getting his maiden five wicket hall in his very first test match.National selector Hirwani who got 16 wickets in his debut test match would be proud of his achievement.
Sehwag and Gambhir attack
Indian Openers went on the attack getting a hundred run opening stand of just 23 overs going at four an over.It was an ideal platform going into the third day,India having a lead of 301 going into the fourth day.Sehwag got to a blazing half century with Gambhir at the other end for good support.India would want a lead of 450 with four sessions at the Aussies.
