On eve of the all important second test between India and Australia at Mohali suspense still remains over Kumble.Will he or won't he be a part of the team for the second test remains to be seen.Looks like he has postponed it till the last minute.No indications were given by him during the press conference today.The fact that he told the press that 24 hrs were still remaining for the test match clearly indicates that he wants to take a call at the last minute.Signs didn't look great because if he has decided to take a call on the morning of the match then it can be too close for comfort for the players in the dressing room.
There can be two sides to this.One, he could have already communicated to the team that he will not be playing the second test and Dhoni will be the captain and keep everybody guessing.Two, Considering his good record in Mohali,he wants to give it one last shot tomorrow morning.Whatever it may be if Anil does not take the field tomorrow, tongues will start wagging as to whether he has already played his last test.Speculation would be rife as to whether Dhoni would captain India for the remainder of the series.
Anil by not giving a clear picture has left a lot of questions unanswered.Hopefully one will get the answer in the next couple of days on whether he will be fit for the remainder of the series.Because if not he will be sorely missed by India for this all important series,and India might have to do a farewell for not one but two great cricketers it has produced in the last decade and a half.
