His is a very interesting case. His father just played a one-off test match for the Kiwis, and while he did score a century & a half-century in that match, he retired because he couldnt get accustomed to wearing contact lenses. He would want to avoid that fate and with his many capabilities, he should do that very easily.

Born and bred in New Zealand to try his luck there, from initially being a leg-spinner, he went on to become an opening batsman and is known to accumulate runs while at the same time, lending solidarity to the top order.
He made his domestic debut way back in 1999-00 season, and has ground out bowlers for the past eight seasons, to collect 3257 runs in 68 First Class games at 31.01, which is a decent average for any opening batsman. He also has 4 centuries and 19 half centuries to his credit.
He performed rather well in the 2007-08 season, averaging well over 40 and thus was able to earn a call-up to the New Zealand national squad for the tour to England. Here, he played the three tests, but failed to live up to his billing scoring only 54 runs in 6 innings.LATEST SCORES
