It is sometimes easy to forget that for all the experience Tim Bresnan has he is still at an age where many players start to look towards the first team for breaks.

Such was the expectation of him at Yorkshire that he made his debut at 16 against Kent in the Sunday League, instantly proving an economical bowler in the limited over game.
He became a regular in the one day Yorkshire side in 2002, aged just 17, delivering a sub 5 economy rate - this was then followed by a successful under 19 tour to Australia and a role in the under-19 world cup.
2003 saw him debut in the first class game and also demonstrate his batting with a 61 off 51 balls against Leicestershire. He also continued to play for England at representative level including the 2004 Under-19 world cup in Bangladesh where he was outstanding in the bowling department
Yorkshire promoted him up the batting order in 2006 and two scores in the 90s and improving averages suggest that he may have a future as a big hitting all rounder.
Bresnan made his ODI debut in Sri Lankas whitewash of England and as a result it hardly provided the best introduction into international cricket. Injury prevented him from much more cricket after this in 2006.
While Bresnan does not deliver express pace, his genuine ability to swing the ball and his run efficiency has kept him in the selectors minds.
