The first one-day international between Sri Lanka and India was abandoned as a no-result on Saturday after intermittent showers forced the second day’s play to be called off without a ball bowled at the SSC ground in Colombo.

 

India were to resume at 11-0 but rain which followed the South African and Indian teams since their arrival in Colombo put an end to what promised to be a close contest. The second match of the series commences on Sunday weather permitting.
