England pace bowler Matthew Hoggard was included in the team for the first Test against Pakistan at Lord's on Thursday.

 

The 29-year-old Hoggard, who sustained an injury to his right bowling hand during a training session last week, has now been cleared to play.

 

Meanwhile, England omitted Jon Lewis and Sajid Mahmood from their 13-man squad after the injury-hit England were without Michael Vaughan, all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, fast bowler Simon Jones, and left-arm spinner Ashley Giles.
