A countrywide talent hunt series of contests - Pepsi-PCB Pace Attack 2005 drew to a close on 17 October after a two-day final at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
 
The pace attack talent hunt scheme was jointly organised by Pepsi and PCB. 
This scheme turned out to be a major success and was designed to find new fast bowling talent to be groomed to play for the Pakistan team when England tour Pakistan at the end of October and in future. 
Kamran Shehzad of Lahore become the fastest bowler of the contest. He clocked 87.4 mph in the final in which thirty fast bowlers participated after winning their respective city contests from all over the country. 
The other bowlers selected during the final to join the Pakistan camp for England series are Sohail Pathan (Karachi) 85.7 mph, Nasir Ahmed (Peshawar) 84.6 mph, Muhammad Talha (Faisalabad) 84.5 mph, Shahid Iqbal (Lahore) 84.1 mph and Muhammad Imran (Peshawar) 82.3 mph. 
More than 8000 young fast bowlers from all over the country participated in the month-long competition. 
The contest kicked off at Quetta's Bugti Stadium on September 20. The other venues were Peshawar, Abbottabad, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, Hyderabad, Karachi, Rawalpindi/Islamabad and Lahore. 
From each centre, three of the fastest boys were picked to appear in the final at Lahore. 
The top six from the Lahore final will be joining the national cricket camp for possible selection to play for the Pakistan team during the coming England tour which starts from 21st of this month.
