Paul Collingwood, by scoring an unbeaten 112 and returning the figures of 6-31 against Bangladesh at Trent Bridge, became the first player in one-day international history to score a hundred and take six wickets in the same match. West Indian Viv Richards held the record of best all-round performance in a match for more than 18 years before Collingwood came up with his grand double. Collingwoods figures of 6 for 31 were good enough to remove Mark Ealham from the top of the best bowling performances list (see list )for England. 
Chris Tremlett's figures of 4 for 32 are the second best figures by an England bowler in his debut match after Adam Hollioakes 4 for 23 against Pakistan at Edgbaston on August 31,1996. Tremlett joined six other Englishmen taking four wickets in their debut match. The details:
