Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) summoned Shoaib Akhtar to his office on February 4, 2005 and had a hard talk with him on grounds regarding his attitude and conduct during Pakistan team's tour of Australia. The Chairman told Shoaib to explain his conduct in writing by Monday, February 7, 2005. The Chairman told Shoaib that unless he was fully fit, he would not be considered a candidate for selection for the Indian Tour.
No further press statements would be given on this subject by Shoaib or by PCB.
