Player: | C Hayhurst |
DateLine: 11th May 2014
It is with deep sadness that I have to inform you of the death of our Chairman Chris Hayhurst after a long illness.

Chris was a fantastic servant to the Club and was an active member of the committee for a number of years including the last 7 as Chairman and the previous 10 as Vice Chairman.
He was no mean player either and represented the Club at first team level on numerous occasions between 1981 and 1984 before devoting time to his young family.
An attacking left handed batsman and superb fielder, he developed a passion for cricket whilst playing for St Marys in the Bacup Sunday School League before starting his long and loving relationship with Bacup CC.
He also found time to run the Junior Under 15 team, having a positive influence and a desire to win on all who have come under his wing.
Chris was also a quiz guru and an encyclopedia of information and his knowledge on Sport in particular, meant that in more recent years he was the backbone of the quiz team.
He had Bacup CC running through his veins and to say he will be sadly missed seems to be a massive under statement somehow.
All our thoughts with his family, wife Lynne, children Vicky, Matthew and Michael and brother Andrew.
The funeral will take place on Friday May 16th at 11 o'clock at St Marys Church and from 1.00pm at the cricket club.LATEST SCORES
