Burnley have signed highly rated Pakistani off spinner Adnan Rasool as their professional for 2012.

Burnley Chairman Michael Brown said: "Adnan is a highly recommended off spinner from Pakistan. Saeed Ajmal, has publicly said on TV, that he considers Adnan the second best off spinner in Pakistan and that he has attended numerous Pakistan camps at the behest of Mohammad Yousaf, Younus Khan and Misbah ul Haq. The club is thankful to Nadeem and Bouncer Sports for their excellent service and assistance in the process."

The 30 year-old has picked up 59 First-class wickets since his debut in 2003. He currently plays for State Bank of Pakistan. Inspite of a First-class batting average in single figures Rasool is reputedly a competent batsman who is capable of making runs in club cricket. He will be Burnley's third Pakistani professional following Mudassar Nazar and last season's paid man Imad Wasim.
