A match that was touted as the crucial encounter not only for both the sides bit for the tournament as a whole was washed out without a ball being bowled.

 

The only cricketing activity that took place was the toss which was won by New Zealand skipper Ross Taylor who elected to bat first. The ground staff anticipating rain had covered most parts of the ground even before the drizzle had started. The drizzle then turned in a heavy rainfall thus preventing the match from taking place.

 

The match will be replayed tomorrow with a fresh toss to happen.
