Uttar Pradesh reached the semifinals of the Ranji Trophy 2009/10 because of its first innings lead. UP had a 64 run lead over Assam on the fourth and final day at the Maligaon Stadium.

 

The quarterfinal ended in a tame draw with Assam declaring at 259 for eight.

 

Assam skipper Amol Muzumdar’s made an unbeaten 119; his 25th hundred first-class century facing 226 balls with 12 hits to the fence.
