Afridi eager to take over Pakistan ODI captaincy

Pakistan Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi has declared himself ready for the one-day international captaincy against Australia next year if regular captain Younis Khan is not available for the series.

 

Flamboyant Pakistan all-rounder has said that Younis should not have opted out of the Test series against New Zealand. "He should have toured New Zealand. Anyway, I just hope he is back soon but if Younis Khan won't return until the Australia ODI series, I am ready to lead the team as well," Afridi told a local TV channel.

 

Pakistan to play five one-day international from 22 January to February 5 following after three-Test series in Australia. “The series against Australia always been a tough one and talent can only be reckoned in such series but I am preparing myself for it,” said Afridi.
