The National Selection Committee is facing a dilemma over picking Pakistan squad for the ODI series against New Zealand.

Chief selector Iqbal Qasim said that they wanted to finalise the squad by October 22 as the series starts on November 3 and the captain and coach normally want a short conditioning camp before every series or tournament.
"But we can't move forward until we know from the Board about whether Younus Khan is going to continue as captain as obviously we have to consult the captain while finalising the squad," Qasim said.
One of the major issue confronting the selectors was the availability of pace bowler Muhammad Asif.
"The board has to tell us whether he is cleared to play in Abu Dhabi and Dubai because of his detention case in Dubai last year," Qasim said.
Qasim said Asif had been bowling well and showing good form in the ongoing domestic circuit and the selectors wanted to have him in the side.LATEST SCORES
