India and New Zealand will play a four-match tri-series against Sri Lanka in September this year, the BCCI announced.

The series would be hosted by Sri Lanka and the itinerary for the event would be released soon.
"Sri Lanka will host India and New Zealand in a tri-series of one-day internationals in September 2009," BCCI secratary N Srinivasan said in a statement on Saturday.
"The teams will play each other once, and the top two teams will meet in the final. Thus, a total of four matches will be played," the statement added.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) secretary Nishantha Ranatunga said the tournament, which would be an unscheduled one on the Sri Lankan cricket calendar, is expected to take place from August 4 or 6.
The agreement was reached among the Sri Lankan, Indian and New Zealand officials during their representatives' visit to London for the ICC meeting this week.LATEST SCORES
