| Player: | CH Gayle |
DateLine: 25th June 2009
Chris Gayle is considered to be one of the most laid back players in modern day cricket. Tall and imposing at the crease, he loves to carve through the covers off either foot, and has the ability to tear apart the opposition bowlers without taking much effort. His hold-no-barrels approach puts the opposition bowlers under so much pressure but it can also backfire spectacularly as it has brought about his downfall on various occasions. He was handed the reigns of captaincy when the original choice, Sarwan was injured and has impressed many with his captaincy skills.

Gayle holds the record for the highest innings in a Twenty20 International, having scored 117 against South Africa in the first match of the 2007 World Twenty20, He remains the only centurion in this form of the game and is therefore the only cricketer to have hit centuries in all three formats of international cricket. He has on several occasions hinted at his discomfort with the captaincy tag but with no other suitable candidates around he still remains the captain.LATEST SCORES
