Narsingh Deonarine share similarities with Chanderpaul in the sense that he comes from island of Guyanese. He was first drafted as a replacement into the team when there was the conflict of interest between the players and the board. In the limited opportunities that he received he has not set the stage on fire with his performances but the way mountain of runs he scored at the domestic level was too much for the selectors to ignore and he has been given a chance against the Indians in 2009. If he performs to his potential he can be a permanent fixture in the West Indian team.
