While none of his family played cricket, his father introduced him to his local club at the age of 7 and he has been involved ever since. He also represents his school at rugby. Another member of the squad who has progressed from the U15 side to this World Cup squad, Rajeev aims to take full advantage of the opportunity this competition provides to make his own personal mark and to raise the profile of Scottish cricket. He is quick to acknowledge the support and guidance provided by his club, Ferguslie, and the national coaches at various age levels for helping him to progress to this level. Omer Hussain is a member of the same club. Due to the consistency of his performances, he lists Glenn McGrath (Australia) as his favourite player.
