Bill Emery had an illustrious all-round record playing as a professional for Gowerton in the South Wales Leagues between 1923 and 1940.

 

Born in Merthyr, he had initially been a professional with the Hills Plymouth club in his native town, and in 1922 he played twice for Glamorgan, against Lancashire at Old Trafford and Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge. Had Glamorgan`s finances been healthier, they might have been able to afford his services on a more frequent basis.
