Peter Gatehouse was a fast left-arm bowler who played in 19 first-class matches for Glamorgan between 1957 and 1962, during which time he was also studying for a Ph.D. in pharmacy at Cardiff University.

Gatehouse had a good record in club cricket for Cardiff, and his finest hour in Glamorgan colours came at Lord`s in 1958 when he returned bowling figures of 7/94.
After gaining his doctorate he pursued a career in pharmacy, but continued to play club cricket, and captained Cardiff C.C. in their Centenary season in 1967.
