Richie Thomas had a fine record in club cricket in Monmouthshire, with the right-handed all-rounder producing many fine performances for the Panteg club.

 

He made his Glamorgan debut in the club`s Sunday League fixture against Derbyshire at Ebbw Vale in 1969, and he returned the fine figures of 1/13 in 7 overs.

 

Thomas had played for the 2nd XI since 1965, and in 1974 he was called into the first team when Glamorgan were beset by injuries for their match with Lancashire at Liverpool.
