HARRISON, George Crawford.
Amateur.
Born at Maida Vale, London, 27th June 1860.
Died at Inverleith, Edinburgh, Scotland, 16th March 1900.
The son of W. Harrison, of Maida Hill, London, he was educated at Malvern College and Clifton College, where he was captain of the cricket eleven in 1879. He went up to Oriel College, Oxford, where he played in the University cricket eleven 1880-81, winning his blue both years. He played in 18 first-class matches 1880-83 and played county cricket for Herefordshire in 1881. He became an assistant master at Clifton College 1883-90, moving to Fettes College, Edinburgh from 1890 until his death.
At the time of the 1881 Census he was a visitor at Balnakeilly House, Kirkmichael, Perth, Scotland with Lovell Drage, aged 22, unmarried, a medical student, and his brother, also unmarried, aged 20 and an arts student at Oxford. He is described as an arts student at Oxford, aged 20 and unmarried. There is a domestic servant-housekeeper.
