Player: | ERK Glover |
Ted Glover was typical of the colourful and jovial amateurs who appeared for Glamorgan in the 1930`s. He was also a talented rugby player, appearing for Glamorgan Wanderers R.F.C., and pursued a successful career as a sports journalist.

Educated at Sherborne School, he made his first-class debut for Glamorgan in 1932 against India at Cardiff Arms Park, and soon developed into a useful fast-medium bowler, and aggressive tail end batsman. He played a number of quickfire innings, including a rapid half century for Glamorgan against Somerset at Downside School in 1934, during a tenth wicket partnership of 70 with his friend Johnnie Clay. During the course of his career best 62, Glover struck four sixes and four fours, and then went out to take 5/88 as Glamorgan.
His journalistic commitments prevented him from playing on a regular basis, and under different circumstances, Glover could easily have become a highly successful professional cricketer. He was also the brother-in-law of Glamorgan captain Maurice Turnbull.
