EVANS, Henry.
Amateur.
Born at Stoneyford Farm, Condor, Derbyshire, 8th July 1857.
Died at Spondon, Derbyshire, 30th July 1920.
He played in five first-class matches for Derbyshire in 1878-82. For some time he lived at Chesterfield but by 1888 he was at Glasgow, where he was Assistant Traffic Manager to a railway company.
At the time of the 1881 Census, he was living at Oakerthorpe, Wingfield South, Derbyshire, with his father, a widower farmer aged 61. Also present were his two brothers George, age 25 also a farmer and Walter aged 17, a clerk with the Midland Railway and a sister Mary, aged 27, housekeeper. Henry appears, aged 23, also a clerk with the Midland Railway. There are two servants.
