Notes
--> Wickets given to bowlers do not agree with batting scorecard for the South second innings

The ninety sixth contest witnessed a revolution in cricketing circles. Belgrano, previously in the South came across to the North and greatly strengthened the eleven. 'Observer' (D.G.B.Parsons) of the Buenos Aires Herald takes the credit for this move, which apparently saved the game for another generation. The South won the toss but put the North in first, a tactic which didn't succeed the North making 253. Slow left arm bowler Mike Ryan took five good wickets. In reply the South were struggling at 41 for five wickets but Martinez Juarez hit 93 and with Mike Gibson added 95 for the sixth wicket. With a lead of 51 the North smote the South's bowling to all parts of the field and declared at 244 for five wickets made in only 44 overs. 'Guille' Kirschbaum and Donny Forrester added 68 for the fourth wicket and their final total left the South needing 296 to win which was way beyond them and they made only 125 of which top scorer was extras.
