Due to rain play commenced 55 minutes late at 11.25 a.m. on the first day of the match. Rain stopped play at 4.54 p.m. on the second day of the match and play was called off at 5.10 p.m. On the third day rain commenced in the afternoon tea break and play could not be recommenced at the conclusion of the break at 3.30 p.m., play not recommencing until 4.00 p.m. Only on the opening day did play continue until scheduled stumps at 5.30 p.m., the match being concluded at 5.00 p.m. For New Zealand IDS Smith kept wickets in the first innings of the Queensland XI and JF Reid in the second innings.
