The match was drawn with Durham winning on first innings. There was no play until 5.35 pm on the second day due to rain. Morris took 5-48 in Cheshire's first innings and 5-17 in the second innings to finish with match figures of 10-65; 8 of his victims were bowled. Harrison made 86 for Durham before retiring hurt having been hit on the hand by a ball from Barker; this was the only half century of the match. Hunter took 5-51 in Durham's second innings.
