Staffordshire won this return match by nine wickets on the second day. The match between the two sides at Stoke-on-Trent earlier in the month had also been won by Staffordshire. For the winners, there were 2 sixes and 10 fours in Barnes's 101, an innings of 2 hours and 5 minutes. In the Staffordshire first innings, Barnes and Fereday put on 116 runs for the third wicket. Barnes also took 13 wickets in the match for 97 runs, including 8 for 59 in the Lincolnshire second innings. For the losers Worman top scored with 47 in the Lincolnshire second innings. Riley took 5 wickets for 70 runs in the Staffordshire first innings.
