This return match was drawn with Norfolk requiring 5 runs to win with one wicket remaining when stumps were drawn. Norfolk had been set in their second innings a victory target of 77 runs in 80 minutes. Rain stopped play an hour before lunch on the first day and it was not resumed until 4.20pm. For the home side, there were 7 fours in Pickersgill's 51. In the Durham second innings, Pickersgill and Walker added 66 runs for the seventh wicket. For Norfolk Allsopp took 9 wickets in the match for 79 runs, including 6 for 43 in the Durham first innings. There were 7 fours in Falcon's 56. When the teams had met at King's Lynn in July, Durham had won in a day.
