Lancashire 2nd XI won by 146 runs on the second day. For the winners, there was 1 six and 14 fours in Whitehead's 89 not out, and 1 six and 9 fours in Cragg's 82 not out. In the Lancashire 2nd XI first innings, Cragg and Ainscough added 65 runs for the seventh wicket, and in the second innings Whitehead and Ainscough put on 75 runs for the same wicket. For the losers, Gilman's 81 contained 9 fours and Gillespie's 80 12 fours.
In the Northumberland second innings, Skinner and Elsey added 51 runs for the eighth wicket. In the Northumberland first innings, Charlton was struck in the eye with a high rising ball and had to retire for medical attention. He took no further part in the match.
