Match notes
Due to failing light the umpires called a halt to play at 5.13 p.m. Overnight rain and a continuing drizzle throughout the day made play impossible on the second day. For the Victorians Malligan and Roach were to share the wicket keeping duties but with the loss of the second day Roach did not get an opportunity to don the wicket keeping gloves. AJ Bailey and SA Bell were unavailable for the Queensland Colts team and MR Hayward, originally twelfth man, and SL Flegler came into the eleven.
