Portrait of Hanif Mohammad
The original 'Little Master' and father of cricket in Pakistan. Aged 81 he died in Karachi, his home town, on 11 August 2016.
Hanif played in Pakistan's first Test match in October 1952 and scored 3,915 runs in his 55 Test appearances.
In 1959 he made 499 for Karachi against Bahawalpur which was the highest first-class score for 45 years, until Warwickshire's Brian Lara made 501.
Hanif's 337 against West Indies in Barbados in 1958 lasted 16 hours 10 minutes, which remains a Test record.
