Haslingden will not be resigning the controversial former New Zealand international Tama Canning.

Haslingden Chairman Mark Rothwell explained: "The Committee feels that Tama's sudden, untimely and controversial departure from first class cricket has left his position with Haslingden Cricket Club untenable. It was always our intention to re-sign Tama and this has come has a bit of a shock. We are now in the market for a new professional'.
Canning's sudden retirement came on the back of disciplinary problems with Auckland when he turned up late during his sides match against Northern Districts in December.
