Darren Gough was ruled out Sunday of the remainder of England's one-day series against Pakistan with a left shin injury, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced.

He is also unlikely to play any part in the remainder of the current English season with his county, Essex, after being advised to rest from bowling for six weeks - a move which could scupper his hopes of appearing in October's ICC Champions Trophy one-day tournament in India.
Gough's place in the England party for the remainder of the Pakistan series will be taken by Durham opening bowler Graham Onions.
The 35-year-old Gough, England's most successful one-day bowler with 235 wickets, was recalled to international cricket for Monday's Twenty20 match against Pakistan, after a year on the sidelines.
He then featured in Wednesday's washed out one-day series opener and Pakistan's seven-wicket win at Lord's on Saturday, where his eight wicketless overs cost 44 runs.
ECB chief medical officer, Dr Peter Gregory, said: "An MRI scan today (Sunday) showed a marked bone stress reaction in his fibula and Darren has been advised to rest from bowling for six weeks. He will return to Essex to receive ongoing assessment and rehabilitation."
Gough added: "I'm obviously extremely disappointed that this injury has ruled me out of the England side, I was looking forward to a strong NatWest Series which could have helped my chances for the upcoming winter tours.
"I've had a niggle for about a month which seemed to clear up with a couple of weeks rest before the NatWest Series but unfortunately it has returned to the point where I can't go any further at the moment."
The five-match series, which Pakistan lead 1-0, continues with Tuesday's day/night fixture at the Rose Bowl.(Article: Copyright © 2006 AFP)
