Rishton have signed former Accrington and Ramsbottom all rounder Kieren Grimshaw as professional for the 2024 season.

 

The 25 year-old began his career at Read and last season was professional at Heyside.

 

Grimshaw joined Accrington in 2015 and hit 2434 runs at 26.5, including one century and fifteen half centuries in five seasons at the club. He also took 41 wickets as his bowling developed.

 

In 2020 Grimshaw joined Division 1 club Ramsbottom hitting 909 runs for the club at 23.3 and taking 53 wickets at 24.7.

 

After taking over as captain mid way through the 2021 season, Grimshaw led Ramsbottom to a memorable Worsley Cup Final victory over Rochdale at Acre Bottom picking up the 'Man of the match award' for hitting 149.

 

In the Worsley Cup he scored a competition record 437 runs at 145.7 with a record three centuries and in league matches he hit 409 runs at 20.5 and picked up 36 wickets at 25.3.

 

In all matches in 2022 he hit 1078 runs and took 52 wickets.

 

Grimshaw stood in as sub professional for Rishton's final two matches of the 2023 season hitting 61 on the final day at Great Harwood.
