West Indian Lendl Simmons will not be joining Enfield 'Due to personal circumstances.'
 
The club have acted quickly in signing up South African Werner Coetsee of the Highveld Lions. 
The 27 year-old Coetsee is no stranger to league cricket in the North West having played at Northern Premier League side Morecambe in 2007 and at Middleton in the Central Lancashire League the following season. During his time at Morecambe he stood in as sub professional for no fewer than four Lancashire League clubs - Ramsbottom, Accrington, Todmorden and Nelson. His best performance was for Nelson against Todmorden when he took 6-35 and scored an unbeaten 54. 
The right handed middle order batsman and off break bowler has scored 2968 runs, including three centuries at 29.7 since making his First-class debut in 2003. He also has 172 wickets at 34.2 with a best of 7-48. 
He will be the club's sixth South African professional.
