East Lancs have signed South African Ockert Erasmus from Boland as professional for the 2011 season.

Skipper Mark Bolton said: "Ockert is an exciting prospect at 22 years of age. He bowls right arm off-spin and bats middle order for Boland. For the first time in four years we hope to have our professional for a full season. "I would like to pass on the club's thanks to Gary Hunt and his company Cric Intro for helping us find Ockert and for his help in general over the last few years with various sub-pro appointments."
The South African has played just three First-class matches to date but the club expect him to have played the required number to qualify for a work permit in the coming weeks.
Erasmus will be the club's fourteenth South African professional.
