Nelson have signed 24 year-old New South Wales batsman Peter Forrest as their new professional. The right handed batsman currently bats at four for his state side in the Sheffield Shield.

 

To date he has 1122 runs at 30.3 with two centuries and five half centuries since making his debut in 2007. Forrest has yet to bowl his right arm medium pace at state level.

 

Forrest's top score to date is 177 against Tasmania. Forrest will be Nelson's 12th Australian professional and their first since Nathan Hauritz in 2005.
