| Event: | England in South Africa 2009/10 |
DateLine: 20th November 2009
The opening one-day international between England and South Africa at the Wanderers was abandoned without a ball bowled after the heavy rain continued. The umpires made two inspections and called the game off when it became clear the weather wasn't going to allow a contest.

Both teams stayed in their hotels which gave a clear indication as to the prospects. England were forced to train indoors yesterday including making use of a covered car park for fielding practice.
Paul Collingwood will have to wait until Sunday to become England's most capped ODI player. He remains level with Alec Stewart on 170 appearances.LATEST SCORES
