Nash used to play in the Australian domestic circuit before the agony of not getting a contract from his side made him switch to play for Jamaica, a place from where his father was a Olympic and Commonwealth swimmer between 1966-70. A left-handed batsman and a brilliant fielder, Nash also is a useful left-arm medium-pacer. He had a strong first season with Jamaica, and he also finished big with him scoring a match-winning century in the Carib Challenge final, and after hardly a year in West Indies he got a call-up into the national squad for the ODI tri-series in Canada. Test selection also came shortly after and he made 23 on debut against New Zealand in a rain-ruined match at Dunedin before a couple of good knocks of of 74 and 65 in Napier. During the Tests against England in the Caribbean, Nash provided a buffer between the powerhouses of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Chris Gayle and Ramnaresh Sarwan and a previously fallible lower order. His sensible batting earned him 239 runs, including a maiden Test century. Nash was also pretty good in the recent series against England in the West Indies. He accumulated 239 runs and also in the process went on to score his maiden Test century.
