SHUTER, Leonard Allen.
Amateur.
Born at Thornton Heath, Surrey, 25th May 1852.
Died at Eastbourne, Sussex, 13th July 1928.
The son of Leonard Shuter, The Lodge, Morden, Surrey, he was educated at Rugby, where he was not a member of the cricket eleven. Between 1876 and 1883 he played in 38 first-class matches, 37 of them for Surrey. His brother John played for Kent 1874, Surrey 1877-1909 and England 1888. He went into business with his father as a timber merchant.
At the time of the 1881 Census he was living at Kirby Hall, Horton Kirby, Kent, aged 28, a timber merchant, with his wife Catherine A., aged 21. They have four servants.
